Our story

Kalidou was founded nearly twenty years ago. It all began with Sylvie, who at the time ran a small yarn shop and handmade knitted creations in the city center of Narbonne. It was there that she discovered Drops yarns — a true revelation: high-quality yarns offered at unbeatable prices, available in a wide range of colors and textures.

At a time when the brand was not yet represented in France, Sylvie decided to work with Drops. The success was immediate: customers came from far and wide, quickly making the creation of an online store essential. Gilles, her partner, took care of the design and management — thus began the e-commerce adventure.

Today, Kalidou is based in Quarante, a small village located between Narbonne and Béziers. The company has grown significantly and now benefits from over 1,000 m² of storage space in a facility optimized for order processing.

Over the years, Nicolas and Charly, Sylvie’s children, joined the team, followed by Dimitri, Nelly, and Lionel, who strengthened the order preparation team. Émilie and Flavie, in charge of customer relations, follow-up, and communication, will be your preferred contacts for any questions or issues.

In February 2026, a new website — more efficient, secure, and user-friendly — was launched to improve the customer experience: specific dye-lot ordering, color-based search, optimized navigation, and more.

Today, Kalidou is the oldest and largest Drops distributor in France, offering the complete product range. Between 4,000 and 8,000 balls of yarn are shipped every day, volumes that allow us to maintain the fairest possible prices.

With nearly one million balls of yarn in stock, spread across 34 qualities and several hundred colors, the company guarantees orders from the same dye lot. Five full-time order pickers work daily, and any order placed before noon is shipped the same day (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays). All of this is backed by exemplary customer service.
